LFLL 2023 Champions - on to TOC!

What a great week of playoff baseball - all teams battled hard, putting their best efforts on the field for the big crowds filling Heroes Park. 

Majors Assassins finished 2nd seed in the regular season with a record of 9-7 and defeated their first opponent, Makos, 8-3. They then beat Ballerz in a close game of 6-5and finished undefeated in the tournament by beating Makos once again in the championship game, 14-10. They had a lucky draw and have a bye for the first round of the Tournament of Champions (TOC), and will face either Northwood or Laguna Hills in the TOC on Thursday, June 8th at 6:30pm at Riddle Field in Laguna Beach. If they win, they will play in the championship game on Saturday, June 10th at 4:00pm at Riddle Field. 

AAA Bombers finished 2nd seed in the regular season with a record of 10-6, which earned them a bye for the first round of AAA playoffs. They defeated the Benchwarmers 11-8 to earn their spot in the championship game against 1st seed Naturals. P. Foss struck out 9 in 5-1/3 innings, and teammate H. Peacock struck out 2 to finish the game with a final score of 4-0. They will face Irvine Ranch in the first round of the TOC on Saturday, June 3rd at 1:00pm. If they win, they will face Aliso Viejo on Tuesday, June 4th at 6:30pm with the championship game on Friday, June 9th at 6:30pm. All games will be at Woodfield Park #4 in Aliso Viejo. 

AA Black Sox finished 2nd seed in the regular season with a record of 11-4-1. They defeated the Sharks in the first round of playoffs 16-9 and had a comeback 11-10 win against the Aviators in the semifinals. Their strong offense pushed them ahead of 1st seed Crushers in the early innings of the championship game, with their strong defense maintaining their lead through the bottom of the 6th for a final score of 13-10. They will face Laguna Niguel in the first round of the TOC on Saturday, June 3rd at 1:00pm at Hicks Canyon Park #1 in Irvine. The semifinal and championship games for the AA division are scheduled for Monday, June 5th and Thursday, June 8th, respectively. 

Intermediate Golden Eagles will also play in the District 55 TOC, with all games at our very own Heroes Park! As the host league, our team has a bye for the first round and will play in the semifinals on Tuesday, June 6th at 6:30pm. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, June 10th at 1:00pm. 

Wear your LFLL gear and come cheer your teams on in what will undoubtedly be some more exciting baseball!
