Registration Price: Our Fall Ball registration price remains unchanged from the previous year at only $135 for ~10 weeks of baseball. Your registration fee will include a Fall Ball jersey (dri-fit tshirt with LFLL logo design) and a hat, and will cover the costs of field permits, insurance, equipment and recurring field maintenance and administrative costs of the program. A late fee of $65 will apply for all registrations after July 15th, so don't delay and register NOW!
Divisions & League Age: Fall Ball 2022 League Age is determined using the Spring 2023 League Age Chart. The Spring 2023 age chart is used because the Fall season is intended to develop players in preparation for the following Spring season. League age 5 players who have already played a season of Little League Tee Ball may request to play up to Rookie. League age 6 players who have already played a season of Little League Rookie may request to play up to Single A. Please email your request to [email protected]. AA and above division players please be advised that Fall Ball division placement does not guarantee or imply Spring Season 2023 division placement, as Spring Season placement is determined via player evaluations and draft. The Spring 2023 League Age Chart is not yet published - please use the Spring 2022 League Age Chart AND ADD +1 to determine your player's Spring 2023 League Age.
Team Assignment: Coach/friend requests are considered for all divisions, but not guaranteed as we try to build teams evenly based on past playing experience, etc. Team assignments will be announced mid-August.
Document Check requirements: ALL players must print/complete/sign the Medical Release Form and bring it to the first team meeting/practice (required by Little League International).
The new registration platform, Sports Connect, provides us with the capability to accept uploads of birth certificates, which will be kept on file within the system. All players will be required to upload a legible copy of his/her birth certificate for birth date verification upon creation of the new account within Sports Connect.
Residency verification will be required only for those players who did not play in Spring 2022. If you did not play in Spring 2022, please click HERE for a list of documents required to complete registration. Additionally, the following documents are required by the State of California law for youth sports on an annual basis. All documents can be emailed to [email protected].
Team assignments will only be made upon completion of all required paperwork.
Uniforms and equipment required for each player: Each player will need to provide his/her own baseball pants, socks, belt, cleats, protective cup (for boys) and gear (a glove, batting helmet, and USA Baseball standard bat). We recommend holding off on purchasing apparel items until your team has been assigned and you know what your team color will be. Our generous sponsor, Dick’s Sporting Goods, typically provides a league discount weekend prior to the start of each season as well, and we will email the coupon 1-2 weeks prior to the season start.
Schedule: Managers will select their weekly practice slot 1-2 weeks before the season begins, based on field allocations we receive from the city of Lake Forest. Game Schedules will be available 1-2 weeks before the first game, which is typically the first Sunday after Labor Day weekend. The last game will be scheduled on or before the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving. Please be advised that due to the increasing popularity of our Fall Ball program, game start times are no longer limited to Sunday afternoons and may include Friday evenings, Sunday mornings and/or Sunday evenings depending on the number of teams, field allocations, and interleague team/field availability. There will not be any evening games for lower divisions (Tee Ball, Rookie, and Single A).
Fall Volunteers: Lake Forest LL is a 100% volunteer-run organization, and we ask each family to fulfill a volunteer role for each player in the program. Volunteer roles needed on each team are as follows. All LFLL volunteers must complete a background check on an annual basis.
- Manager/Head Coach (1) – Being a Manager requires time, patience, and a basic knowledge of the game. You should be able to attend the majority of games and practices (as the Manager, you will be able to select your own practice slot). The Manager will plan and run practices/drills will also be responsible for creating gameday lineups. If you are available to manage a team, please email your interest to [email protected]. Completion of online trainings (concussion, sudden cardiac arrest, and child abuse mandated reporter) within the past few seasons is required. Managers are also subject to LiveScan fingerprinting, per California law.
- Team Parent (1) - Primary responsibilities will include assisting the Manager with administrative matters such as managing team schedule/calendar, picking up/distributing uniforms, helping to remind players/families to comply with safety protocols, communicating league/team matters to parents, etc.
- Assistant Coaches (2-4) – The Assistant Coach will assist the Manager with running practices/drills and helping to coach and organize the players on game day. Completion of online trainings (concussion, sudden cardiac arrest, and child abuse mandated reporter) within the past few seasons is required. Assistant Coaches are also subject to LiveScan fingerprinting, per California law.
- Umpire (3) - Umpire volunteers are required for AA and above divisions only, and you will be umpiring your own child's game - Home team provides plate umpire, Visitor provides base umpire. Training will be provided by the league prior to the first game for those who are new or would like a refresher. Completion of online trainings (concussion, sudden cardiac arrest, and child abuse mandated reporter) within the past few seasons is required. Those who umpire 5+ games per month or 10+ games over the year are also subject to LiveScan fingerprinting, per California law.
- Snack Bar - LFLL will be running the Snack Bar for baseball/softball tournaments hosted by the city of Lake Forest and will need volunteers to help. Each player will be expected to provide volunteer(s) to fulfill at least TWO shifts, with the exception of Managers, Coaches, Team Parents, and Umpires who umpire 3 or more games.
**If you are unable to fulfill any of the above volunteer roles for each player in the program, you may opt out of volunteering for the season by paying a $250 opt out fee per player, per season.
Additional volunteers may be needed by the team (e.g. bringing post-game snacks, field prep/cleanup, scorekeeping/pitch counting, etc.) - these are in addition to the above volunteer roles needed by the league.
